This website is an attempt to capture as much as possible of the Conway history.  I had the benefit of having an interest in Cine and later Video from an early stage, even in College.

So the story starts with a vintage section which includes some old archival stuff, including activities during Niall's college days in UCD, a history both Margaret and Niall's family, and some other old archival stuff.  However, thereafter the videos largely recount the Conway family story, with film/and then video that begins with the births of Rory & Shane in 1979 and 1980, goes on to record the early years in Monkstown, then the traumatic change of location to Bedford, New York in 1987.  Later the transition to Washington, with the departure of the boys to the University of Chicago and Columbia University, and finally the move to San Diego, followed first by Shane's marriage to Katie, and later Rory's to Pia.  Retirement came in 2007, and that commenced a more intense period of travel for the old pair.

That intense travel came to a crashing end with the arrival of the pandemic in early 2020.  Largely confined to home, we finally made a visit to Ireland in October /November 2021, and because the timing coincided with an aggressive Covid wave in Ireland, that was hardly a normal Ireland holiday.  Nonetheless we got to see family, the main purpose of the trip, and made it safely back to San Diego. The video of that trip is now on - line under the years 2018 - 2022.

Recently 2021 to 22 was completed, and a new 23 -24 section has been added.  The missing 2020 and 2021 Christmases were incorporated, which has the benefit of maintaining a record of  every Christmas since 1980 - except one.  

 

The old family stories in the vintage section are still a work in progress but do contain many interesting old photos of both families, going back in some  cases to great grandfathers.
